This school is located in Machchhim, Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality-7, Myagdi District, Gandaki Province. Looking at the history of this school, there was a very active person in this Machchhim village, Mr. Jhak Bahadur Sherchan (Jimuwal). Seeing the difficulty of the young children of the village having to go to a distant school, he gathered intellectuals and social workers in the village, Mr. Jalbir Bhandari, Mr. Chhabilal Chhantyal, Mr. Chandra Bahadur Chhantyal, Mr. Durga Bahadur Chhantyal, Mr. Bal Bahadur Chhantyal, Mr. Dharma B.K. and decided to open a school in the village. In 2045 B.S, donations were collected and an attractive school was built through public labor. In addition, classes were started from the same year. Senior donors like Mr. Chitra Bahadur Chhantyal and Mr. Buddhiman Sherchan have provided unforgettable support in the construction of the school building. The school, which has been operating since BS 2045. In 2048 BS, permission was granted for grades 1-3, in 2063 BS, permission was granted for grade 4, and in 2065 BS, permission was granted for grade 5. Due to the interest of the parents and the diligence of the teachers, permission was obtained for grade 6 in BS 2067 BS and is currently operating up to grade 8.
Since the government has not yet provided any teacher posts and grants to run this school up to grade 8, all the parents and social workers have been helping to run the school by making huge donations to Deusi Bhaili( a program to collect money) every year. In addition, brothers and sisters living abroad have also been helping with invaluable amounts time and again. The work of fencing the playground of this school, constructing the school's entrance gate, and burying the iron volleyball pole has been supported by Mr. Hom Bahadur Chhantyal, the son of Mr Chhabilal Chhantyal, a social worker from this village. This school has purchased 5087 sqare meter(10 Ropani) of land and completed the construction of a four-room building and toilet on that land. In this school, a playground slope and stairs have been constructed to allow access from the playground to the classrooms and for spectators to sit. Since this academic session 2083, we have been operating a free residential hostel for children with various problems, which currently has 29 students.
